Green Valley Organics Lactose Free has already addressed the "reduce" in the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" slogan by choosing lighter weight #5 plastic for our containers. We believe that choosing a lighter weight container will accomplish the most in minimizing environmental impact of our packaging.
We encourage consumers to "reuse" #5 plastic containers for food storage, to start plants for your garden, and in any other creative way you can think of.
To address the "recycle" aspect, we suggest you work in your communities to make recycling of #5 plastic containers more widely available. To locate facilities that offer #5 plastic recycling, please visit www.earth911.org. This site will direct you to recycling centers for all types of packaging in your region. Simply enter your zip code and the type of material you want to recycle.
