If everyone knew how easy (and tastier) it is to make stovetop popcorn, microwavable popcorn wouldn’t even exist. A freshly-popped batch of this easy homemade herb popcorn is all you need for the perfect snack. No need to wonder about artificial ingredients or hidden sources of lactose from a microwavable bag. Top it off with a bit of nutritional yeast for an extra savory kick (trust us – it’s delicious!).

Green Valley Organics

Herb Topping:

1 tsp. dried thyme

1 tsp. dried dill

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. chili powder

1-2 tsp. nutritional yeast (optional)

¼ tsp. salt

¼ cup Green Valley Organics Lactose-Free Butter

2 tablespoons coconut oil, canola, or peanut oil

½ cup popcorn kernels

salt to taste

  1. Mix the herbs together in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a large pot with a lid, melt the oil over medium heat. Add 3-4 popcorn kernels and shake around. Once they pop, add the rest of the popcorn kernels and swirl to coat all the kernels with the oil. Cover; shake the pot frequently to avoid burning. Once you hear more than a couple of seconds between pops, turn off the heat. Let sit for a few minutes while the final kernels pop.
  3. Melt the butter in the microwave. Slowly drizzle it over the popcorn and shake a bit to combine. Sprinkle in your herb blend and shake the popcorn around a bit more. Taste and add more salt if needed.
