This lactose‑free Southwest turkey melt brings bold flavor and creamy comfort together—without the dairy discomfort. Layers of tender sliced turkey and smooth, melty lactose‑free pepper jack‑style cheese are paired with fresh salsa and a bright avocado‑lime spread for a sandwich that feels indulgent yet balanced. The avocado adds natural richness in place of mayo, while a squeeze of lime lifts every bite with a clean, zesty finish.

Ingredients
  • 8 slices sourdough or sandwich bread
  • ¾–1 lb sliced deli turkey
  • 4 slices of Green Valley lactose‑free pepper jack cheese
  • ¼ cup salsa
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 Tbsp. of Green Valley lactose‑free butter
  • Optional: cilantro or jalapeño

 

Instructions
  1. Mash avocado with lime juice until mostly smooth.
  2. Spread avocado mash on 4 bread slices.
  3. Layer turkey and Green Valley lactose‑free pepper jack on top.
  4. Spoon salsa over cheese and sprinkle with green onions.
  5. Top with remaining bread slices.
  6. Melt butter in a skillet over low to medium heat.
  7. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden and melted.
